Requirements
- A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later).
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
- For AI post-processing with Apple Intelligence: macOS 26 and a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence. Nothing else needs it.
Cnvrtr does not need an internet connection. Text recognition and document creation are built into the app. Cnvrtr only goes online when you load extra OCR languages or use an AI provider on the internet.
Installing
- On the Cnvrtr page
, request the download link by email and download the installer package
Cnvrtr.pkg. - Double-click
Cnvrtr.pkg. The macOS Installer opens. - Follow the steps and confirm with your Mac password. The package is notarised by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning.
- Cnvrtr is then in your Applications folder.
First launch
On first launch the main window opens with the drop area. You can change the interface language in the settings (see Settings ).
In the top right of the main window there are three icons: the question mark for Help, the red cup to Support Cnvrtr, and the gear for Settings. You can also open the settings from the Cnvrtr menu or with ⌘ ,.
