Error messages
| Message | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| This file format is not supported. | Cnvrtr reads PDF, PNG, JPG, TIFF and HEIC. Convert other formats to one of these first, for example with Preview. |
| No text could be recognized. | The image is too blurry or too small. Choose a higher Image Quality under Output or scan the document again. |
| No image or PDF found in clipboard. | Copy a photo or file on your iPhone or Mac first. |
| Only PDF files can be dropped in merge mode. | With Merge PDFs, only drop PDFs, or untick the box. |
| Download failed - is an internet connection available? | Extra OCR languages need the internet once. Check the connection and click Load again. |
| No API key configured. | Enter and save a key in the AI area, or turn AI post-processing off. |
| Ollama not found | Install Ollama with brew install ollama and start it once. |
| A required tool is missing from the app bundle | The installation is damaged. Reinstall Cnvrtr. |

Better recognition
- Set Image Quality to High or Maximum, especially for small print.
- For documents in other languages, turn on or load the matching language under OCR.
- For languages other than the five included ones, choose the Tesseract engine.
- Take photos straight and in good light.
